Anglo-Belarusian Society is pleased to invite to an event featuring Professor Arnold McMillin who will talk about the World War I as reflected in Belarusian and English poetry of the time.
The event will start at 4 pm on Saturday, 15 November at the Belarusian House in Islington.
Professor McMillin will briefly compare the significance of WWI and WWII for the two countries, and the very different nature of the poets – the best-known Belarusian poets of the time, and English poets who made their name by writing about the tragedy. The talk will feature significant Belarusian and English examples, highlighting some points of similarity as well as difference.
The talk will take place the Belarusian House in Islington (Belarusian House, 52 Penn Road, N7 9RE) and will be followed by refreshments. Map.
